New Year New Goals

Well today I start the new year with new posts, this year is about getting fitter, feeling fabulous, creating new goals that may not necessarily align with body building but will create a balanced life with of areas I want to expand, explore &
So I asked myself.... What goals, adventures, areas do I want to work on???

So one major goal is to see live bands...........

Of course get stronger in my body building............

And get out there on the dating scene..............

First live band was a Beats & Brass Band @ The Standard in Surry Hills which consisted of 13 guys up on stage playing reggae with a great brass sound!  All the guys looked like they were really enjoying playing their music & the crowd was just as appreciative, everyone was up dancing & it was quite a large group for The Standard.  It was a big brass sound and good FUN!!!!
The group on before was a group of about 11 with brass but had a rapper lead singer, interesting combo & worked well:)

The Standard is a small intimate venue, a bit grotty....... But convenient & obviously promote a different range of music genre's.
Next band was happened upon when taking BFF's son out for his 18th, decided to check  out the Steyne Hotel @ Manly.  So found the Moonshine Bar @ the top of the Steyne and  playing was a band called Mana Lion, the bar was packed & everyone was dancing, music good. And a great atmosphere for a Sunday night.

Def a return visit will b required!  They are on again in March!

Last night BFF and I wandered into the city & caught up with a food & wine festival in @ Hyde Park then wandered over to Messina's for icecream in Surry Hills.

We then went to the Standard to check out some Indie bands. Up first was Jacky Came Through The Window, had a really good sound & have a couple of songs on JJJ.

I've decided that a lot of lead singers are 'tortured souls' ill check out my theory through the year!!  The next band up was Triple X, I think, they also had a good solid sound, although a  few issues with the sound engineering:(. We didn't stay till end f set but thoroughly enjoyed  listening to some new music.  Not a big crowd @ all but the bands did a good job of still playing!!

Ok enough of bands, lets talk training & diet!!! Well both have sucked this year so far!!!   Have been totally off the beam with my diet & stopped weights for about 4 weeks over the Christmas break!! Body was wanting a rest.......... Diet always crap around Christmas as the alcohol tends to infiltrate any gathering/get together!

So, started back with the weights about 3 weeks ago and was really surprised ( and to a degree NOT) that my form had decreased soooooo much!  It was a bit frustrating to begin with as I had to drop back heaps with the weights!!!  Just tried to relax with where I was at and not push too hard, didn't want to do any damage!!!

I am now back to where I was if not further in some areas. Pushing 180k on the leg press, wide feet and close feet.  Flys are 9k in each hand, squats 55k and dumbbell press 12.5k, so this week I'm a happy camper with the weights:))
